Fulham manager Marco Silva has paid glowing tribute to former defender Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of his side’s Boxing Day clash against Chelsea, describing the centre-back as a player of exceptional quality.
Adarabioyo spent four successful seasons at Craven Cottage before joining Chelsea on a free transfer last summer, where he has continued to impress. Softfootball reports Silva reflected on the Nigerian-born defender’s development during his pre-match press conference, praising both his professionalism and commitment.
Speaking ahead of the London derby, Silva said:
Tosin was so important in three, four seasons with us. He really improved and it’s going to be nice to see him. Of course during the game he’s going to try to win, we are going to try to win as well.
The Fulham boss also highlighted the qualities that helped Adarabioyo earn his move to Stamford Bridge.
He was a good professional, good lad, always open to learn and quality player. And because he’s a quality player, the reason he’s playing right now at Chelsea and doing so well,
Silva added.
Adarabioyo will be aiming to continue his impressive form when he faces his former club in what promises to be another fiercely contested West London derby.
