Manchester United cut Garnacho’s price to £40m as Chelsea hang around

Manchester United are feeling pressured to depose the players they feel are out of their squad for next season as they are now willing to listen to cut prices for them. Softfootball understands that Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho are the remaining players left to be offloaded.

Marcus Rashford was the fifth player on the list but he has now secured a loan move to Barcelona who also have an option to buy the Englsihman for £30m,if they so wish. ESPN reports that in January, United had slapped a £70m transfer fee on Granacho during his stellar performance in middle of last season.

According to Utd reports, a Manchester United based news outlet, the club are ready to accept a lower bid of £40m for the Argentine. The news outlet posted the update of Garnacho’s transfer fee on their verified X handle.

Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea have been the club most interested in Granacho as the sources have also informed Softfootball that the player only fancies a move within the Premier League.

However, the Blues who themselves have sold a few players including Noni Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga to Arsenal, another goalkeeper, Petrovic to Bournemouth, can only make an approach if they have another sales. The Blues have put up out of favour striker, Nicolas Jackson for sale.

Jackson’s status in the Chelsea squad remained unclear with the arrival of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro who both starred in the Club World Cup which Chelsea won. Chelsea reportedly will listen to offers between £80-£100m for the striker which United are also reportedly interested in.

Softfooball believes that if both clubs begin negotiations separately, they could end up doing a player swap plus equivalent cash to complete the transfer.

Garnacho, Antony, Malacia and Sancho have all been left out of United’s squad for their Premier League Summer series preseason tour to the United States where they play Everton, Bournemouth and West Ham United. The club will however have new signing, Mbeumo join the team for the tour.
