Pep Guardiola has promised that Manchester City will improve after they suffered a humiliating 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon, Softfootball reports.
The lunch hour kickoff saw Thomas Frank’s Spurs score two first half goals through Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha and the Cityzens were unable to recover just like last season when Spurs won 4-0 at the stadium. It is Spurs second consecutive victory after beating Burnley on the premier league opening day.

Reacting to the loss in his post-match press conference share via Manchester City’s official club media, Guardiola believes that his players can turn things around.
He said:
“The game against Spurs this season was a lot of build up and man marking like against Brentford in the past.”
“You have to play in a different way. We spoke about that.
“We missed the simple things. I never asked them to play exceptional things.
“The first was about effort to run and that was extraordinary like it has been for many years.
“I don’t have doubts. Last season, we didn’t achieve but in the training we were really good.
“In the pressure, we missed simple things and then we create enough chances but it’s happened, it’s football.
“It’s just the second game. Last game against Wolves, everyone said everything it’s fine and I said it’s just one game and a lot is going to happen.
“I know how we are working and what the players are doing. There are many good things but we have to improve.
“Step by step we will improve and make more connections.”
The Cityzens failed to win the league last season and would love to regain their fun on time and challenge the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal for the premier league crown this season.
Manchester City will travel to face Brighton in the match-day 3 of the premier league while Tottenham Hotspur hosts Bournemouth in a mouthwatering fixture at the London stadium.
