Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has completed a loan move to Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, bringing a temporary end to his spell at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands international will spend the remainder of the season with the Eredivisie side as he looks to regain regular playing time and rebuild his fitness following a difficult period at Manchester United.
According to Softfootball, the agreement includes an option for PSV to sign Malacia permanently at the end of the loan spell. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the purchase option is valued at €10 million. He wrote:
Tyrell Malacia leaves Man United to join PSV Eindhoven, here we go! Loan move with salary covered until June and buy option clause included, told it’s worth €10m.
The deal is also understood to include a 30 percent sell-on clause in favour of Manchester United should PSV eventually complete a permanent transfer and later sell the defender.
Malacia joined United from Feyenoord in 2022 but has struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player due in part to injury problems.
The move to PSV gives the left-back an opportunity to play more consistently in familiar surroundings as he attempts to revive his career and return to his best form.
