According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, the PSG head coach described the reports as nothing more than destabilising rumours, insisting there is no truth to claims suggesting an imminent departure from the club. Luis Enrique said.

These are rumors always going around PSG. There are a lot of fake news,
They are trying to destabilize the players and the team but none of that is going to happen.
It’s normal to have talks but it remains private.

The comments come amid heavy rumours circulating across the football space suggesting the Spaniard is reluctant to renew his contract at PSG as he eyes a new challenge elsewhere. Reports have linked Luis Enrique with a potential move to Manchester City, especially with Pep Guardiola’s long-term future at the Etihad Stadium still unclear. Guardiola has previously stated that his future is ultimately in the hands of the City hierarchy, further fuelling speculation.

Despite the noise, Luis Enrique remains fully focused on his role in Paris and continues to enjoy strong backing from the club’s leadership. His impact has also been recognised on the global stage, having recently been named Best Coach of the Year at the 2025 Golden Globe Soccer Awards, a testament to his influence and success with PSG last season wining the Quadraple.

With silverware, stability, and individual accolades to his name, Luis Enrique appears unfazed by external chatter, determined to keep PSG on track while contract discussions remain firmly behind closed doors.
