Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards, adding another prestigious individual honour to an exceptional year for the Atalanta star.
Softfootball understands that Lookman is one of only two African players on the shortlist, alongside Liverpool and Egypt forward Mohamed Salah.
The Nigerian international joins an elite group of nominees that includes Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden.

Lookman has enjoyed a remarkable 2024, producing outstanding performances for both club and country.
He was one of Nigeria’s standout players at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring three goals and providing one assist as the Super Eagles reached the final.
The 27-year-old also made history with Atalanta by scoring a stunning hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final, guiding the Italian side to their first-ever major European trophy.
His impressive displays saw him finish 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, making him the highest-ranked African player in this year’s standings.
Lookman is also among the favourites for the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award, underlining a stellar campaign that has established him as one of Africa’s and Europe’s top attacking talents
