Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has praised Atalanta’s outstanding team display following their impressive 3-0 victory over Napoli in Sunday’s Serie A showdown, Softfootball reports.
Atalanta produced one of their finest performances of the season to defeat the league leaders on their own turf, with Lookman playing a starring role by scoring twice. Substitute Matteo Retegui added the third goal to complete a memorable afternoon for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
The Nigerian international described the victory as a massive achievement, noting that defeating the league leaders away from home is never an easy task. He credited the collective effort of the team for securing all three points and expressed pride in the performance.

Lookman has been enjoying an outstanding year both domestically and internationally. Earlier in the week, he attended the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, where he finished 14th in the final rankings following his remarkable performances for Atalanta and Nigeria.
A major highlight of his campaign was his historic hat-trick in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League final victory over Bayer Leverkusen, a display that earned him global recognition and a place among the world’s best players.
Despite the growing individual accolades, Lookman insists his priority remains helping Atalanta achieve success as a team. The winger acknowledged the support of his teammates, stressing that football is a collective sport and that his personal achievements are only possible because of the players around him.
With his superb form continuing this season, Lookman remains one of Atalanta’s key attacking threats as the club aims to challenge for honours in Serie A and Europe.
