Bayer Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes has confirmed that Victor Boniface will remain with the Bundesliga champions after his proposed move to Al Nassr collapsed.
The Saudi club had reached an agreement with Leverkusen to sign the Nigerian striker but reportedly cancelled the deal and turned their attention to Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran.
Leverkusen were expected to receive around €60 million from the transfer, which would have made Boniface the highest-paid Nigerian footballer.
However, Rolfes confirmed that the 23-year-old is now set to stay at the club. Rolfes said.
There have been talks, but we are happy that he will be training with us today. I assume that he will stay.
He feels comfortable here, his attitude towards the club is unchanged.
