Barca star Lamine Yamal returned to regular team training today ahead of the World Cup start, and softfootball believes this is very good news for Spain manager Luis de la Fuente.

Lamine had been doubted to even make the Spain squad for the 2026 World Cup after suffering an injury toward the end of the 2025/26 season. The timing of the setback was especially painful for him, as he admitted it meant missing moments where he most wanted to help the team.

Despite the disappointment, Yamal described the injury as “just a pause”, expressing full confidence in his teammates and promising to return stronger next season.
