Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Yan Diomandé, with the RB Leipzig winger giving the Spanish giants the green light over a proposed move.
The agreement mirrors the one Paris Saint-Germain reached with the player in June, meaning both European heavyweights have secured Diomandé’s approval on personal terms.
Real Madrid are now preparing an improved offer after seeing their opening bid of €90 million plus €10 million in add-ons rejected by RB Leipzig.
PSG, however, remain firmly in the race and have resumed contact today as they continue pushing to hijack the transfer before an agreement is reached.
Softfootball understands Real Madrid and RB Leipzig are now working towards finalising a package worth around €120 million, with negotiations continuing between the two clubs.
The Diomandé saga has become one of the longest-running stories of the summer transfer window. Earlier this month, Real Madrid’s initial €100 million proposal was turned down by Leipzig, while PSG refused to match the Bundesliga club’s valuation despite already agreeing personal terms with the player.
With both clubs still battling for his signature, the coming days are expected to be decisive in determining Diomandé’s next destination.
