Juventus have officially ended their pursuit of Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez after talks with the Aston Villa goalkeeper’s camp failed to progress over the transfer fee.
Juventus and Martínez’s representatives held direct discussions on Sunday night, but the deal is now officially off.
The Italian giants considered Aston Villa’s asking price too high and have decided not to proceed with the Argentina international.
Juventus are now moving forward with their pursuit of Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as they look for an alternative between the posts.
Softfootball reported two days ago that negotiations between Juventus and Martínez were not at an advanced stage following discussions between the parties.

Villa have now started exchanging documents with Parma for a deal worth around €35 million, with the goalkeeper expected to travel for his medical once the remaining formalities are completed.
Juventus had been assessing their goalkeeper options while also taking into consideration Martínez’s recent physical issues during the World Cup.
The latest development now brings an end to Juventus’ interest in the 33-year-old, with the club turning their attention fully towards Vicario.
