Juventus Aim for Fourth Straight Win as They Visit Pisa on Saturday

Softfootball understands that Juventus head to Pisa on Saturday evening looking to stretch their recent revival a little further and, if possible, sign off 2025 on a positive note. After months of frustration, things are finally moving in the right direction for the Bianconeri.

Juventus shared a post about the game via their official X account.

Juventus beat Roma 2–1 in their most recent match. It was their sixth win in the last seven games, with their only loss under Spalletti coming in a 2–1 defeat to Napoli.

They managed fewer wins across the previous 16 fixtures, when draws seemed to follow them everywhere. The upturn has also helped in Europe, with two key Champions League wins pushing them closer to the knockout rounds.

Juve now sit fifth in the table, four points off leaders Inter Milan. A title challenge still feels unlikely, but they’re close enough not to be completely written off just yet.

History strongly favours the visitors, too. Juventus have never lost a top-flight match against Pisa, winning 10 of their 14 meetings.

Pisa, meanwhile, is finding life back in Serie A a tough adjustment. After a promising start to the season, results have dipped. Alberto Gilardino’s side has lost three of their last four matches, including back-to-back 1–0 defeats to Parma and Lecce, both direct rivals near the bottom.

They did at least avoid another loss last Sunday in Cagliari. After going ahead, Pisa looked set for more disappointment before Stefano Moreo’s late goal rescued a point.

Sitting 19th at the halfway stage, only Fiorentina are below them, and even their regional rivals finally picked up three points last week.

Team News

Juventus’ defensive issues refuse to go away. Daniele Rugani is once again facing a time out after only recently returning.

Federico Gatti remains unavailable, leaving Spalletti short of centre-back options. Teun Koopmeiners, who has filled in at the back recently, returns after suspension and may be asked to do a job again.

Going forward, Kenan Yildiz is expected to support a lone striker. With Dusan Vlahovic still out, Openda is likely to start ahead of Jonathan David after finally opening his league account.

Pisa is without their leading scorer, M’Bala Nzola, who is away with Angola, which recently lost 2-1 to South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Moreo, fresh from his goal off the bench last weekend, is pushing to start alongside Henrik Meister, competing with Matteo Tramoni. Interestingly, none of Moreo’s four goal involvements this season have come at home.

Possible Lineups

Pisa:
Semper; Canestrelli, Caracciolo, Bonfanti; Toure, Vural, Piccinini, Aebischer, Angori; Tramoni, Meister

Juventus:
Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly; McKennie, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; Openda

Softfootball’s Prediction

Given Juventus’ recent momentum and Pisa’s struggles on home soil, the visitors look well placed to finish the year with another win.

Spalletti’s side appears more settled now, with a structure that was missing earlier in the season. Pisa, on the other hand, looks like a team fighting for survival and may find this fixture comes at the wrong time.

Prediction: Pisa 1–2 Juventus
