Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is set to become the new head coach of the Germany national team following the departure of Julian Nagelsmann, Softfootball reports.
Nagelsmann has been dismissed by the German FA after Germany’s disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign came to an end with a penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay in the Round of 32.
the decision came after the German Football Association (DFB) held an emergency meeting lasting more than three and a half hours to assess Germany’s disappointing campaign.

The elimination extended Germany’s recent World Cup struggles, following group-stage exits at the 2018 and 2022 tournaments, prompting the federation to make a managerial change.
Klopp, who is currently serving as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, is understood to be keen on taking charge of the national team. The 59-year-old has not managed a team since leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season and is now expected to begin a new chapter with Germany.
