Softfootball can confirm João Félix has officially completed a transfer from Chelsea to Al Nassr, signing a two-year deal that runs until 2027. The former Chelsea player has said that he joined the club to spread joy.
Softfootball understands that Chelsea will receive an initial €30 million for the 24-year-old, with performance-based add-ons included in the final agreement. A sell-on clause has also been inserted. This was after he was seen at Al Nassr’ preseason camp two days ago, as captured by Softfootball.

The Portuguese forward was unveiled alongside Al Nassr’s new sporting director, Simão Coutinho, himself a former Portugal international. “I’m here to spread joy! Let’s win together,” João said at the club’s training base in Riyadh.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Felix’s deal with the Saudi club was confirmed despite news ranging about returning to Benfica.
He wrote on his X handle:
“Official, confirmed. João Félix joins Al Nassr on €30m initial deal plus add-ons and sell-on clause up to €50m.
“Two year deal for Félix, here with director Simão Coutinho.
“I’m here to spread joy. Let’s win together”.
Félix spent last season on loan at Barcelona, but the Catalans opted not to extend the deal or pursue a permanent signing. That left Chelsea looking for a new solution, having decided not to integrate him into Enzo Maresca’s plans.
Al Nassr had long admired the former Atlético Madrid player and stepped up negotiations in recent weeks after clearing salary space. He now becomes the club’s latest major addition, joining Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané, and Marcelo Brozović.
The Saudi Pro League side is hoping to push closer to Al Hilal this season after finishing second last term. Félix joined Chelsea on a short-term loan in January 2023 but struggled to make a consistent impact, scoring four goals in 20 appearances under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.
Softfootball had earlier written that Al Nassr was preparing a formal bid after João’s camp gave the green light to the move earlier this month.
The former Benfica player will join up with fellow compatriots Cristiano Ronaldo and Otavio in Austria for the club’s pre-season.
