2 Min Read

Chelsea delivered a commanding performance in the first leg of the Europa Conference League semi-final, cruising to a 4-1 victory over Djurgården at the 3Arena.

Softfootball gathered, Nicolas Jackson starred with a brace, while Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke also contributed as Enzo Maresca’s side laid down a strong marker ahead of the return leg.

The Blues struck early in the 12th minute through Sancho, who capitalized on a defensive lapse to slot the ball home, giving Chelsea a fortunate but crucial opener. Chelsea continued to control proceedings with incisive passing and fluid movement, creating numerous chances.

In the 43rd minute, Noni Madueke doubled the lead with a composed finish, capping off a brilliant run from Enzo Fernández. Chelsea’s dominance was evident as they dictated the tempo despite only holding 40% possession, showcasing their clinical edge in front of goal.

After the break, Jackson was introduced and wasted no time making an impact. He scored twice in quick succession (59’, 65’) with precise finishes that left the Djurgården defense struggling to cope. The Blues’ attacking flair ensured the Swedish side had little room to breathe.

Djurgården did pull one back in the 68th minute through Isak Alemayehu, heading in from a well-placed cross, but it was a mere consolation as Chelsea’s victory was never in doubt.

Chelsea now head into the second leg with a commanding 4-1 aggregate advantage, leaving them in a strong position to reach the final. Jackson’s clinical finishing, combined with the creativity of Sancho and Madueke, ensures Chelsea fans can look ahead with optimism.

Enzo Maresca will hope to maintain this momentum as Chelsea aim to secure a spot in the Europa Conference League final.
