There was an emotional moment during the Inter Miami vs Monterrey Leagues Cup match, as the entire stadium observed a minute of silence in honour of Jorge Messi, father of Lionel Messi.
Softfootball gathered that silence, raw emotion, and tears washed over the stadium. Lionel Messi has not returned, as he and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo are currently in Rosario, Argentina, paying their final respect to his late father.
On the pitch, Inter Miami suffered a 2–1 defeat to Monterrey. Goals came from:
