The Premier League title race is getting more emotional by the week, and one of the funniest reactions yet came from Dan on The Overlap via their x handle, where he made it crystal clear that his support for Manchester City has very little to do with actually loving City. It is simply about wanting Arsenal to fail. Softfootball reported that Dan did not even try to hide it, saying,

“I just dislike Arsenal as a club. I dislike their fans… it would be hilarious, it would be all-time entertainment to see them melt down and bottle it.”

He even went further with the kind of brutal honesty football fans will either respect or hate, adding,

“I would take Man City winning it every year for the rest of my life if it meant Arsenal didn’t ever win it.”

That is not rivalry again that is pure football hatewatch.

And to be fair, City fans have had every reason to feel confident lately after that ruthless 4–0 demolition of Liverpool in the FA Cup, a match many supporters summed up as “Haaland vs Liverpool” after Erling Haaland tore through the Reds with a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fans are still licking fresh wounds after Southampton shock Arsenal as another trophy dream crashes, with the Gunners dumped out 2–1 in another painful collapse.

So when Dan talks like this, it is not really about backing City out of loyalty. It is about chaos, banter, and the idea of Arsenal falling apart under pressure one more time. Petty? Absolutely. Honest? Very. And in football, that kind of shameless rivalry is exactly why these title races always hit harder than the table alone can explain.
