Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has sought to draw a line under the controversy surrounding his recent comments, choosing instead to focus fully on the club’s next challenge as they push for another EFL cup semi-final.
The Italian’s remarks come after a turbulent period at Stamford Bridge, with softfootball earlier reporting that Maresca described the last 48 hours as the worst of his Chelsea tenure following a poor run of performances. Despite the pressure, Chelsea responded positively with a win over Everton on Saturday, a result that briefly steadied the ship.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Maresca made it clear that he has no interest in revisiting those comments, stressing that his attention is now firmly on the immediate task ahead as Chelsea prepare to face Cardiff, with a third semi-final under his leadership within reach.
Speaking on the situation, Maresca said:
I have nothing to add. My focus is on tomorrow’s game and achieving the third semi-final in my time at the club. I said what I had to say very clear. We focus on Cardiff now.

Despite the recent scrutiny, Maresca also moved to reaffirm his commitment to the club. According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, the Chelsea boss dismissed any suggestion of unrest, underlining his belief in the project and appreciation of the supporters.
He added:
Happy at Chelsea? Yes, I am. Absolutely happy. Absolutely committed.I love the support, the fans deserve the best. I have nothing to add.
Following the Everton victory, Maresca also praised his players for their resilience during a difficult spell and highlighted Wesley Fofana’s return to the squad after a minor eye issue, pointing to renewed belief within the group as Chelsea look to build momentum at a crucial stage of the season.
