German goalkeeper, Marc-André Ter Stegen has released a statement claiming he is loyal to Barcelona and loves the club deeply, Softfootball reports.
Earlier this week, Barcelona stripped the 33-year-old of the club captaincy following disciplinary proceedings against the goalkeeper.

Ter Stegen’s dispute with the Catalan giants began from his unwillingness to allow the club to share his medical data with La Liga after he had a back operation at the end of July. That data could’ve allowed Barca register new players depending on his length of absence.
Interestingly, few days ago, Ter Stegen claimed that he will be out for three months while La Liga rules require a player to remain sidelined for at least four months to be considered a long-term absentee.
Football expert, Fabrizio Romano shared via his official X handle, a statement released by Marc-André Ter Stegen as he tried to find a solution for the ongoing saga.
Ter Stegen’s statement read:
“These past few months have been difficult for me, both physically and personally. My priority has always been to return to the pitch and help the team.
“The decision to undergo surgery was made with medical professionals and approved by the Club, with the goal of protecting my long-term career.
“There’s been a lot of unfounded speculation. I want to clarify that all signings and renewals were completed before my surgery. It’s unfair to suggest my injury was used to register others.
“I’ve always acted with professionalism and respect. I deeply love Barça, this city, and the fans. My commitment to the Club is absolute.
“I’m ready to collaborate with the Club’s management to resolve this situation constructively.
“A lot may have changed, but one thing never will: I love you, Culers!”
Barcelona are yet to register this summer signings, new number one goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol and Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford on loan.
