Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has insisted the club has no intention of parting ways with star striker Alexander Isak amid growing speculation surrounding his future.
The Sweden international underlined his importance once again by scoring a hat-trick in Newcastle’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town, further strengthening his reputation as one of the Premier League’s most prolific forwards.
Softfootball understands Howe addressed the transfer rumors while speaking to the club’s official website, making it clear the Magpies are determined to keep hold of their prized asset.
Responding to questions about Isak’s future, Howe said:
There’s no part of me or anyone at Newcastle that wants to let Alex go. He’s very much part of our long-term plans. He’s first class.
The Newcastle boss also praised the striker’s attitude and influence within the dressing room, describing him as a player who always puts the team first.
He’s very popular in the dressing room and that’s not always the case with an out-and-out goalscorer. He plays for the team, not just for himself, and he’s always willing to learn,
Howe added.
