Harry Kane has broken his silence on a possible return to the Premier League after shock reports emerged about the forward’s future. The England captain scored his 100th Bayern Munich goal in just his 104th appearance for the club on Friday night.
Softfootball reported that the 32-year-old reached the landmark after scoring twice in Friday’s 4-0 Bayern Munich victory over Werder Bremen. Kane became the fastest player to score 100 goals for a club in Europe’s top five leagues this century.
He surpassed the record set by Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both took 105 games to reach a century for Manchester City and Real Madrid, respectively. Kane is said to have a release clause worth just under £57 million that kicks in next summer, provided he expresses a desire to leave the Bundesliga champions before the end of January 2026.

If the Bavarians do the double, Kane will likely finish as the Champions League and Bundesliga’s top goal scorer something that will help his quest for the Ballon d’Or.
However, when the ceremony takes place in Paris France next year, he may be playing for a different club if recent reports are to be believed. But Kane, who has been linked with his old club Spurs, as well as Liverpool and Manchester United has ruled out a return to England when talking post-match on Friday according to Fabrizio Romano via his X handle. He tweeted:
Harry Kane on his future and links with return to England: “No, I’m not thinking about PL return at the moment. I’m really happy here. I have two years left on my contract. I’m enjoying every moment. Bayern is the best place to win trophies, absolutely.
Kane’s comments may dispel the rumours that he wants to return to England after the 2026 World Cup. The 32-year-old spent 19 years at Tottenham Hotspur, where he scored a club-record 280 goals in 435 matches but did not win a single trophy, which led to his decision to complete a £100m transfer to Bayern in August 2023.
Part of the reason why Kane left England would’ve been his ambition of securing a trophy, something he couldn’t do at Spurs. But in October 2024, he shared the Gerd Muller Trophy for most goals in a year with Kylian Mbappe and explained why he left the Premier League.
The England captain won the first trophy of his professional career last season after scoring 26 league goals to fire Bayern to the Bundesliga title, before kick-starting the new campaign by lifting the German Super Cup in August.
Kane has made an explosive start to 2025-26 in front of goal, netting eight times in just four appearances, including two Bundesliga hat-tricks against RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim.
