England captain Harry Kane has refused to make excuses after the Three Lions suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat to Senegal in their international friendly.

Softfootball reports that the result ended England’s unbeaten record against African opposition and provided a major talking point after the final whistle.

Kane acknowledged that England failed to perform at the required level and admitted that Senegal deserved credit for the way they approached the contest.

The defeat was particularly disappointing for England because they were expected to control the match and continue their strong run under Thomas Tuchel.

Senegal, however, showed confidence and discipline throughout the encounter, taking advantage of England’s mistakes and creating problems for the hosts.

Kane remains one of England’s most experienced players and is expected to play an important role as the team continues preparations for future competitive matches.

The striker will now look ahead rather than dwell on the result, with England needing to learn from the performance.

The loss also highlighted areas Tuchel must address, particularly in defensive organisation and the team’s response when opponents apply pressure.

Despite the setback, Kane believes England can recover and improve.

The captain will hope the disappointing night against Senegal serves as motivation as the Three Lions continue their preparations for major international competition.
