Harry Kane has admitted that he believes he has his strongest opportunity yet to win the Ballon d’Or after another outstanding season with Bayern Munich and England.
The England captain reflected on his individual achievements while discussing the prestigious award, acknowledging that winning it would be a major honour but stressing that the final decision rests with the voters.
Kane’s case is strengthened by his remarkable 2025/26 campaign. The Bayern Munich striker scored 36 Bundesliga goals to finish as the league’s top scorer for a third consecutive season, while also winning the European Golden Shoe after scoring 61 goals across all competitions.
Softfootball reports that Kane’s domestic success came alongside Bayern’s Bundesliga title triumph, further adding to his credentials ahead of the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony. Kane is among the 30 nominees for the award, with the winner set to be announced in October.
However, Kane was not the only Bayern player to receive major individual recognition. Michael Olise was voted the Bundesliga’s Player of the Season for 2025/26 after an exceptional campaign in which he registered 15 goals and 19 assists in the league.
The French winger also finished ahead of Kane in the official Bundesliga Player of the Season vote, despite Kane’s prolific goalscoring record.
Kane’s individual form has nevertheless kept him firmly in the Ballon d’Or conversation. With his Golden Boot, European Golden Shoe, Bundesliga title and strong international campaign added to his record, the Bayern striker will now wait to discover whether his performances are enough to finally claim the biggest individual prize in football.
