Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has welcomed the return of John Stones ahead of his side’s crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, Softfootball reports.
City need a positive result to strengthen their hopes of reaching the knockout stages, and Guardiola believes having key players back from injury will significantly improve the team.
Speaking before the encounter, Guardiola expressed his delight at seeing Stones available again after his recent spell on the sidelines, saying:
Stones came back to the team and that is incredible news for us.

The Spaniard admitted injuries had prevented his squad from maintaining rhythm in recent weeks. He noted:
We couldn’t demand too much because players would get injured. Ruben is back, John is back, and players up front are coming back too.
Guardiola added that Manchester City will continue taking things one game at a time as more players return to full fitness during the second half of the season.
