Turkish giants, Galatasaray are keen on signing Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman as early as January, Softfootball reports.
The 28-year-old was part of the Nigerian side that lost 4-3 against DR Congo in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup play-off. Lookman looked a shadow of himself in the two play-off matches and didn’t score or assist.
However, he is still highly rated in Europe as clubs are queuing up for his services after his many troubles with current club Atalanta.
According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle informs that Galatasaray are looking at the Nigerian but other clubs are also monitoring the current African Player of the Year. He said:

Lookman did not have pre-season with Atalanta as he wanted a move to rivals Inter Milan but La Dea’s valuation of 50 million Euros was not paid. The Nigerian then refused to return for pre-season and did personal trainings in London.
Before last transfer window, Lookman had fallen out with former Atalanta manager, Gian Gasperini after his proposed more to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) failed to materialise. The manager wanted him to stay after helping them win the Europa League by scoring a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen. The only defeat suffered by the Bundesliga outfit that season.
Lookman’s rift with Gasperini saw the manager leave the club last season to join AS Roma. This season, the Nigerian has already crashed out with Ivan Juric, who was sacked after Atalanta’s 3-0 defeat against Sassuolo in the Serie A.
Atalanta new manager, Raffaele Palladino is a huge fan of Lookman and wants to build the team around him and if that happens it will be difficult for Galatasaray and the other teams that wants his services this January or in the summer.
