Softfootball reported in the game preview that France are favourites to get all three points in this game, and the Les Bleus roll out their starting XI Mike Maignan starts in goal, protected by a back line of Jules Koundé, Ibrahima Konaté, Dayot Upamecano, and Theo Hernández. It is a powerful defensive unit, with Konaté and Upamecano tasked with handling Iceland’s aerial presence.

In midfield, Deschamps partners Aurélien Tchouaméni with Mamadou Koné, while Bradley Barcola offers attacking drive from a deeper role. The trio gives Les Bleus both balance and creativity, with Tchouaméni expected to dictate tempo.

Further forward, the attacking line is packed with flair. Michael Olise starts on the right after an impressive run of form, with Marcus Thuram through the middle. Captain Kylian Mbappé leads from the left, fresh from equalling Thierry Henry’s tally of 51 international goals.
Iceland, meanwhile, set up in a 4-2-3-1. Elías Ólafsson is in goal, behind a defence of Victor Pálsson, Sverrir Ingason, Damir Grétarsson, and Mikael Ellertsson. The back four will need to stay compact against France’s pace.
In midfield, Jóhann Thorsteinsson and Ísak Jóhannesson join captain Hákon Haraldsson, while Mikael Anderson provides width. Up front, Iceland field a double Gudjohnsen threat, with Albert Gudjohnsen supporting Daníel Thorleifsson Gudjohnsen in attack.
France’s superior depth makes them clear favourites, but Iceland will look to frustrate and play on the counter. With both sides now confirmed, the stage is set for an intriguing clash at the Parc des Princes.
