He is loved by Everton fans and if he was still at the club would have been visiting schools like Jack Grealish did recently to surprise George at the Saint Monica Primary School.
Duncan Ferguson began his career at Dundee United in 1990, and moved to Rangers in 1993 for what was then a British transfer record fee, £4 million. Before moving to Everton where he is most famous for his two spells at Everton (1994–1998 and 2000–2006), with a two-year stint at Newcastle United (1998–2000) in between.
Ferguson played a crucial role in helping Everton win the 1994–95 FA Cup. He holds the joint Premier League record for the most red cards (eight) and is one of the top goalscorers in Premier League history with 36 headed goals.

His career was marked by disciplinary issues, including a three-month prison sentence in 1995 for an on-field headbutt of a Raith Rovers player during a match in 1994.
Ferguson later went into coaching and served as caretaker manager on two occasions (December 2019 and January 2022), notably leading the team to a 3-1 victory over Chelsea in his first game in charge. He left his assistant manager role in July 2022 to pursue a full managerial career.
