Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged the club to make an immediate move for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen before the January transfer window closes.
The former England international believes the Nigerian forward could provide the goals United need after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggled to find the back of the net consistently.
Softfootball understands that the former defender believes Osimhen could be an ideal short-term solution, potentially through a loan deal, if the financial conditions can be agreed.
Ferdinand, speaking on his YouTube channel, argued that United need an experienced striker who can deliver at the highest level and help ease the pressure on their younger forwards.
Ferdinand said.
I’d be going to get Osimhen now if we can do it from a financial standpoint. Get him on loan now!
He also suggested that Hojlund and Zirkzee would benefit from having an experienced forward to learn from, noting that both players are still developing into their roles.
Osimhen has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers in recent seasons, and Ferdinand believes his arrival could give United the attacking boost they desperately need.
