Karim Benzema has opened up about the uncertainty surrounding his future, admitting that his stay at Al Ittihad beyond this season is far from guaranteed. The Frenchman, whose contract runs until June 2026, is yet to make a firm decision regarding his next step, Softfootball reports.

Benzema has remained a key figure for Al Ittihad, most recently getting on the scoresheet in their King’s Cup final victory over Al Nassr, a result that handed the club a much-needed moment of celebration in what has otherwise been a difficult league campaign.

Despite that triumph, Al Ittihad lost the league meeting against Al Nassr earlier in the season and currently sit 8th on the table, 13 points behind the league leaders. The club will be hoping their superstar striker can help close the gap as the season progresses.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Benzema addressed questions about his future with honesty, Romao posted;

Karim Benzema on his contract at Al Ittihad due to expire in June 2026: I don’t know if I’ll leave Al Ittihad or stay”. “It depends on many factors… let’s see what happens.

His comments come at a time when speculation continues to grow about potential interest from clubs both inside and outside Saudi Arabia. While the former Real Madrid captain has delivered moments of brilliance, Al Ittihad’s inconsistent form has raised questions about the long-term project and whether Benzema still fits into the club’s evolving vision.

For now, the 37-year-old remains focused on leading the line and helping his side recover from their slow start. If Al Ittihad are to turn their season around, they will need Benzema’s experience, goals, and leadership more than ever.
