The update was discussed during a press conference ahead of the Premier clash with Manchester United and was shared in the club’s official X handle. Moyes said;

Unfortunately, Merlin had an operation a week last Monday on his hernia. It’s going to keep him out for a few weeks. Hopefully by the time we get around to December, he’ll be fit and ready to go again.

Before the hernia surgery, Rohl had struggled with injuries in the past including a hip injury that kept him out of the game against West Ham. The surgery was very important to solve the hernia issue that affected Rohl and get him needed comfort.

While the operation was not a major one and has been successfully conducted, the recovery process is just as important and the few weeks out of action would definitely give Rohl enough time to bounce back.

With this setback, Rohl has been listed among the players who will be out of first team for a while. In competitive matches, he has been impressing with his performances and had also participated in the Everton Vs Tottenham clash, where Everton suffered a 3-0 loss.

The manager will be able to produce players who can fill the gap during Röhl’s recovery time and both teammates and supporters will be hoping that Rohl makes a full recovery and come back in December to continue his action in Everton.
