Everton have pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the summer window, confirming the loan signing of Jack Grealish from Manchester City.
Softfootball reported that the Toffees beat off interest from several clubs including Serie A champions Napoli, to land the England international, who turns 30 next month.
The Merseyside club made the announcement on their official X account with a simple post that got fans buzzing, then followed up with a series of other posts, including a welcome message from club manager David Moyes for the English superstar:

The deal runs for the entire season and includes a £50 million buy option, giving Everton the choice to make it permanent next summer.
Grealish completed his medical without issue and will take the number 18 shirt, a nod to two of his boyhood heroes Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne. The midfielder even spoke to Rooney beforehand to make sure the choice would be well received.

Last season was a frustrating one for the former Aston Villa captain. He managed only one Premier League start for City and often found himself on the fringes of Pep Guardiola’s plans.
A move to Goodison Park offers him the chance to play regularly again, something Gareth Southgate will no doubt be watching closely ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
For Everton boss David Moyes, it’s a statement signing. For the fans, it’s a glimmer of excitement after a tense summer. And for Grealish, it’s a fresh chapter, one he’ll be hoping is full of minutes, goals, and maybe a permanent stay on Merseyside.
