Enzo Fernández to Miss Argentina Break to Recover Knee Injury Ahead of Chelsea Fixtures

2 Min Read

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has confirmed he will miss Argentina’s November international fixtures to focus on recovering from a persistent knee problem. The 24-year-old has been struggling with pain for months and decided that a short rest period was the safest way to avoid long-term issues. Enzo said in a post shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account:

It’s best decision to rest these two weeks for my knee. In the last week I suffered a lot of pain. These two weeks I recovered as much as I could. I will recover as much as I can when I am 100% back to training and playing with my team.

The midfielder featured in Chelsea’s 3–0 victory over Wolves despite the discomfort, showing his usual determination. Manager Enzo Maresca also praised the squad’s work ethic in a recent interview, highlighting players like Garnacho for their progress and relentless effort, as reported by SoftFootball. Fernández’s leadership remains key, but the focus is now on proper recovery.

I will not be available with Argentina. I was just talking to the medical team because I had a problem with my knee in the last 4 months.

Since joining Chelsea in 2023, the World Cup winner has been a central figure in midfield, dictating tempo and linking play. While his absence will be noticed, fans have shown support online, applauding him for prioritising his health and long-term career.

The plan is for Fernández to return to full training after the international break, hopefully stronger and ready to help Chelsea push on in the season.
