England international Elliot Anderson has been named Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Month for August, Softfootball reports.
The former Newcastle United midfielder who made his debut for the Three Lions during the 2-0 win over Andorra in the 2026 World Cup qualifier at Villa Park was voted as the best by club supporters.

Nottingham Forest announced his win through their official media, as they celebrated the exploits of the midfielder in the month of August. The statement read:
The midfield maestro has enjoyed a fine month, completing the full 90 minutes in the Reds’ first three fixtures of the campaign, setting up Chris Wood for Forest’s third goal against Brentford with a sensational first-time, defence splitting ball to send our no. 11 in behind the Bees’ rearguard. His corner also led to Wood’s opener against Brenford on the first weekend of the season.
His form in the first fixtures of 2025/26 saw Anderson named in the Senior England squad for the first time, where he made his debut over the weekend.
Anderson’s tireless performances in the middle of the park earned much, deserved praise from the Forest faithful who have chosen him as our first winner of the monthly Club accolade for 2025/26.
Anderson’s stats is top this season as he has had more touches of the ball than any other Premier League player so far in 2025/26 (315). He has ventured into the opposition’s penalty area on more occasions that any other player (27), made more successful passes into the final third of the pitch (62) and made more line-breaking passes starting in the opposition’s half of the field (23).
The 22-year-old is level with Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes for line-breaking passes that have led to a shot (5), but there is so much more to Anderson’s game than controlling the middle of the park.
Anderson’s is second to only Aston Villa’s Youri Tielemens for successful passes in the opposition’s half (115) and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Lewis Dunk for successful passes this season (213).
Not only has he shown his ability on the ball and keenness to create, Anderson is joint second for most duels won (26) and second outright for the most tackles won in the Premier League in 2025/26 (8).
The midfielder’s numbers highlight further the reason for his recent senior international call-up to the England squad for the first time in his career, before completing the full 90 minutes on his international debut and earning the Player of the Match award.
