England captain Harry Kane has said that the 5-0 win of the Three Lions against Serbia on Tuesday night at Belgrade will give the Three Lions much-needed confidence ahead of the next qualifying window in October, Softfootball reports.
The Bayern Munich striker made his 109th appearance for his country, surpassing Bobby Moore to become the fifth-most capped England player of all time, and scored during the five-goal cracker by the English team. Kane netted his 74th international goal, opening the scoring in the 33rd minute, alongside other players like Noni Madueke, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi and a penalty from Marcus Rashford.

Despite the milestone achieved by England during the international break, gathering six points, Kane stressed the importance of the team performance.
He told the Three Lions’ media, saying:
There’s been a lot of noise around the outside, but we’ve been happy with what we’ve been doing. We knew tonight would be a big test against better opposition, but we showed our quality without the ball, pressing high and making it difficult for them. With the ball, we were electric in moments and clinical when it mattered.
Speaking about the set-piece goals from the captain and Rashford’s penalty from an infringement from Olie Watkins, Kane attributed it to the collective effort from their coaching crew and players during the camping, adding that:
It was nice to get some set-piece goals too. Our set-piece coach Paul has been waiting for that one and we got a few tonight. This is the time when the competition starts, the formation and the way we play is going to be set in stone. Today was the perfect template the standard’s been set high.
Meanwhile, Kane emphasised that the double win for England has set them up for a perfect finish in the qualifiers, as they lead Group K with 15 points, seven points above Albania, who are second placed after five games and with three left to play.
We’re going to have difficult games from now until the World Cup but we’ll use this as a starting point and the standard’s been really high.
As much as the win has impacted England, it has also affected a couple of their players, like Kane, who will return to his Bayern Munich club for more engagements on the weekend in the German Bundesliga. Kane has played three games so far for the Vincent Kompany-led Munich side this season, registering three goals and two assists.
