Olympique Lyon have officially completed the loan signing of Brazilian forward Endrick from Real Madrid, confirming an exclusive story earlier reported by SoftFootball back in October. The 19-year-old joins the Ligue 1 side on a straight loan deal until the end of the 2025–26 season, with no option to buy included.

The move brings clarity to weeks of speculation around the teenager’s future, following his limited involvement in Madrid, a situation previously explained by Xabi Alonso and covered by SoftFootball in detail. The agreement will see Endrick wear the No. 9 shirt at Groupama Stadium and become available once the January transfer window opens.
Olympique Lyonnais announced the Brazilian striker’s six-month loan from Real Madrid via a cinematic video shared on their official X account blending Lyon’s Christmas lights with jersey reveals, framing his arrival as an early holiday gift.

Lyon will cover 50 per cent of his salary and pay a reported €1 million loan fee, terms earlier revealed by SoftFootball when Real Madrid agreed to the loan with no buy option. There is also a performance-based clause ensuring the striker receives adequate game time during his stay in France.
Endrick’s decision to choose Lyon was heavily influenced by manager Paulo Fonseca, who held direct talks with the player and outlined how he fits into the team’s attacking setup. The Brazilian forward was also attracted by Lyon’s history with Brazilian players and the opportunity to play regularly in a competitive league.

With compatriots already at the club, the environment is expected to ease his adaptation both on and off the pitch. Due to French registration rules, Endrick will not feature immediately.
Although he will be ready from January 1, he is set to miss Lyon’s league clash against Monaco on January 3 and is instead targeting a debut the following week, potentially in the Coupe de France. Lyon currently sit fifth in Ligue 1 and view the signing as a timely boost in their push for European qualification.

At Real Madrid, Endrick struggled for minutes amid stiff competition, making only a handful of appearances across all competitions. Despite that, faith in his long-term potential remains strong. Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has publicly backed the teenager to shine on the world stage in future tournaments, a stance also highlighted by SoftFootball.
For Endrick, this Lyon move feels like a reset. A chance to play, to grow, and to remind everyone why Madrid invested so early in his talent.
