Newcastle United manager, Eddie Howe has praised his players following their victory over Manchester City in the match-day 12 of the premier league, Softfootball reports.
The Magpies battled to a 2-1 win against the Cityzens at Saint James’ Park. Newcastle needed to dig deep to get the win as Manchester City pushed for the equaliser with everything, they’ve got but they held on for the three points.

After the match, a pretty tired Eddie Howe praised his players in an interview shared on the official X handle of Newcastle. He said:
I’m absolutely buzzing. Sorry, I don’t sound it because I’m sort of pretty tired but, yeah, amazing day and really great effort from the players most importantly. And I have to pay tribute to every single one of them today that took to the pitch because it’s a very difficult opponent to beat.
The first half ended goalless as Sandro Tonali, who missed Italy’s game against Norway during the international break was immense for the Magpies. The first 45 minutes was keenly contested and had both sides giving it their all to take advantage of the match.

However, Newcastle United took the lead in the 63rd minute through Harvey Barnes but five minutes later Manchester City equalised with a powerful Rúben Dias header but Barnes ensured a home win as he slammed in a pass from Bruno Guimarães to make it 2-1.
