Fenerbahce have found a replacement for José Mourinho, with Italian coach Domenico Tedesco now appointed to take charge in Istanbul.
Reports from the media suggested that an agreement between the two parties with Fernanbache making the anniuncement via there official X handle.
Softfootball reported that Mourinho’s 13-month spell at the club came to an unexpected end in late August, following Fenerbahce’s disappointing exit from the Champions League play-offs at the hands of Benfica. A narrow 1-0 aggregate defeat cost the Turkish side a place in the group stage and triggered the club’s decision to part ways with the Portuguese Legend.

Since then, Fenerbahce president Ali Koç and his board have been weighing their options. Former Italy coach Luciano Spalletti was initially approached and described by Koç as the “first choice,” but the veteran tactician turned down the role. Ange Postecoglou was also linked before taking over at Nottingham Forest, while other names such as Sérgio Conceição briefly entered the discussion.
That left Tedesco in pole position. The 39-year-old, who has managed Schalke, Spartak Moscow, and RB Leipzig, has been out of work since January when his time as Belgium’s head coach came to an end. His availability, coupled with his reputation for tactical structure and working with young squads, appears to have made him an attractive candidate for Fenerbahce’s rebuilding project.
The Turkish giants made the announcement with a public statement via there official X account.
They Tweeted:
