Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers has expressed his frustration following the team’s 2-0 home defeat to St Mirren at Ibrox. The Light Blues dominated large periods of the match but failed to convert their chances, leaving them 13 points behind rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
Softfootball notes that Dessers emphasized the difficulty of accepting such a result in front of their own supporters, especially after the high expectations set by previous performances.
The Belgian striker admitted that the team failed to deliver the response the fans deserved after their last home game. He stated:
It was a really difficult afternoon, it was a tough loss especially as it was at home. That is not what you want to show here especially after our last home game, we want to bounce back and give the fans something, but we obviously didn’t.
Rangers will now look to regain momentum in their next league fixture against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Philippe Clement’s side knows they must improve their finishing if they hope to close the gap on Celtic and salvage their season.
