Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has reaffirmed his ambition to continue playing at the highest level, insisting he wants to compete in a league where trophies are at stake. The Rangers forward says his desire to challenge for major honours remains as strong as ever despite ongoing speculation about his future.

The Nigerian international has been linked with a move away from the Scottish club, but he made it clear that any future decision will depend on finding the right sporting project.

Softfootball understands Dessers is not interested in taking a step backwards and wants to remain in an environment where success is the main objective.

Speaking about his ambitions, Dessers said:

Back to the Netherlands for me? Difficult.

He added:

I want to play in a serious competition, for the prizes. The fire is still burning.

The 30-year-old recently scored in Rangers’ victory over Aberdeen and remains focused on helping the Scottish giants achieve their objectives while questions over his long-term future continue.
