Marc Cucurella has sparked fresh transfer speculation after admitting a return to FC Barcelona would be “difficult to refuse” if the opportunity arises.

His remarks come at a time of growing uncertainty within the Chelsea squad. Recent comments from Enzo Fernández linking himself with Real Madrid have only added to speculation surrounding the club’s core players.

In comments confirmed by Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, the Chelsea FC left-back acknowledged that such a move would require serious consideration, although he insisted he is not actively thinking about it at the moment.

Fabrizio’s post:

Marc Cucurella when asked what if Barcelona score: “It’s clear that if those situations arose, they’re difficult to recuse… …I’d have to consider it and talk to my family, I’m not thinking about that”. “If it happens, we will see what decision to make”, told Flashscore.

Softfootball can confirm Cucurella also admitted that returning to La Liga is something he has always thought about, but emphasized that he remains happy in London, where both he and his family feel settled.

On the pitch, Chelsea’s struggles have intensified concerns. The Blues suffered a heavy 8-2 UEFA Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain and currently sit sixth in the league, battling to secure European qualification.

With uncertainty mounting, Cucurella’s comments have further fueled questions about Chelsea’s long-term stability.
