Cristiano Ronaldo, while speaking to the media, has dismissed concerns about his physical condition ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting he is fully fit and confident about leading Portugal deep into the tournament.

This was his statement:

I’m completely fit. Haven’t you been watching my games?” “The key is to start well, finish top of the group. Then it’s one game at a time, step by step, taking it calmly and getting into our rhythm. It will depend on many factors, but I’m very confident that things will go well.

His comments come just days after Portugal’s 2–1 victory over Nigeria in their final pre‑World Cup friendly, a match in which Ronaldo missed a few notable opportunities, prompting questions from some fans and pundits about his sharpness and physical readiness.

However, Ronaldo’s response makes it clear he feels no doubts about his condition, emphasising that he is prepared, focused, and ready to guide Portugal through the group stage and beyond.
