Chelsea midfield star Moisés Caicedo has confirmed he will be available for the FIFA Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium.
Softfootball earlier reported that PSG thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 to book their place in the final, setting up a mouthwatering clash with the Blues.

Caicedo suffered a scare during Chelsea’s 2-0 semi-final win over Fluminense, limping off after a knock and leaving the Blues to finish the match with 10 men, having used up all their substitutions.
His injury sent a wave of panic through Chelsea fans, who feared having to face PSG’s high-powered attack without their influential midfield anchor.
In a post-match interview reported by the Evening Standard, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca gave an update on Caicedo’s condition:
“Moi [Caicedo] twisted his ankle,”
Maresca said.
“When it happened, I told him, because there were just two or three minutes to go, that we could finish with 10 players.
It’s important that we don’t get too worked up because we have a game on Sunday.
He said he would try, but he felt pain. So, hopefully, he can be fit for Sunday.”
Thankfully for the Blues, Caicedo later reassured fans via Instagram, posting a photo with the caption:
“See you on Sunday, Blues.”
Caicedo’s return is a massive boost for Chelsea. The Ecuadorian was a rock in midfield throughout last season, where he played every single Premier League game and was deservedly named Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season.
Recall, Softfootball reported earlier that Chelsea have suffered a major setback ahead of their Club World Cup quarter-final clash against Palmeiras, with star midfielder Moisés Caicedo ruled out due to suspension.
The only game he has missed in the tournament so far was the quarter-final against Palmeiras, due to the suspension. Chelsea will need Caicedo at his best to stand a chance against a PSG side that has looked dominant throughout the competition.
Despite PSG being the overwhelming favourites, Maresca believes Chelsea have already achieved something remarkable.
