Bournemouth are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Chelsea centre-back, Axel Disasi before the Summer transfer window shuts down as official, direct contact with the Blues has been made.
Softfootball understands that the Cherries have already brought in Lille OSC’s Bafodé Diakité, however, they could be set to add another French defender to their ranks in the form of Chelsea’s Axel Disasi.

Bournemouth have lost both of their starting centre-backs, Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi, this summer. The former joined Real Madrid, the latter joined Paris Saint-Germain. Diakité’s arrival was welcome, but they are still looking to bolster their defence.
Disasi, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa is now the subject of talks. Having returned to Chelsea, it became obvious that the Frenchman has no future at Stamford Bridge under head coach Enzo Maresca.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, Bournemouth have emerged as serious contenders to secure the signature of the 27-year-old defender, with the reports indicating that advanced negotiations are underway between both clubs.
He posted:
“Bournemouth are now in advanced talks to sign Axel Disasi as official, direct contact with Chelsea has been made.
Clubs negotiating on final formula but Disasi clear top target for #AFCB and discussions underway.
Bournemouth, confident to make it happen.”
The 27-year-old joined Chelsea from Monaco for around €45 million in 2023. Despite the sizeable fee, he has failed to nail down a first-team role. Disasi is a right-sided centre back with a reputation for being strong and assertive. He is comfortable in different defensive systems.
He is particularly effective when defending deep, using his long reach to win tackles and clear danger. His physical strength and aerial presence make him a threat from set pieces.
Although he reads the game well, his lack of pace can leave him exposed against fast attackers. This is an area that has attracted criticism in recent seasons.
