The second day of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League playoffs on Wednesday, 19th February 2026 delivered drama, goals and major surprises, Softfootball reports.
Atlético de Madrid were held to a 3:3 draw by Club Brugge KV in a chaotic encounter. Julián Álvarez opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 8th minute, before Ademola Lookman extended the lead to make it 2:0. Lookman, who has contributed five goals and assists in his last four games, continues to show strong form.

However, Atletico’s defensive struggles once again cost them. Club Brugge fought back, with Joel Ordóñez scoring in the 79th minute as the match eventually ended 3:3. Despite their attacking quality, Atletico’s inability to control the game defensively remains a concern.

The biggest shock of the night came in Norway, where FK Bodø/Glimt defeated Inter Milan 3:1. Inter, currently top of Serie A, were widely expected to dominate. But Bodø/Glimt have built a reputation for producing surprises in this competition. Earlier in the campaign, they stunned Manchester City 3:1, and they have now repeated that feat against another European heavyweight.

Elsewhere, Olympiacos F.C. fell 2:0 at home to Bayer 04 Leverkusen, while Newcastle United had already taken firm control of their tie with a dominant 6:1 win over Qarabağ FK.

However, the standout results remain Bodø/Glimt’s stunning victory over Inter and Atletico Madrid’s frustrating draw — outcomes that have reshaped expectations heading into the second legs.
