Bayern Munich came into 2026 with hunger and showed no mercy to Wolfsburg as they destroyed them 8-1 in the Match-Day 16 of the 2025/2026 Bundesliga season, Softfootball reports.
The Bavarians aimed for dominance ahead of the encounter as they looked to set the ball rolling for a great year in Vincent Kompany’s second season in charge of the club following a very successful first season.

Bayern Muinich enjoyed the win and showed it via their official X handle. They posted:
🔔 𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 🔔 8️⃣ (𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧) 𝗚𝗢𝗔𝗟𝗦 sees our 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ off to an emphatic start! 🤯.

The players looked sharp and ready even Dayot Upamecano, who is close to extending his Bayern contract enjoyed an outstanding game in front of the home supporters and got them singing like it was Christmas again.
Early pressure from Bayern Munich forced an own goal from Kilian Fischer in the fifth minute of the match but the away side hit back with a sweet goal in the 13th minute from Dženan Pejčinović.

That goal woke Bayern as they upped the tempo of the match as former Liverpool winger Luis Díaz made it 2-1 in the 30th minute with a fine header on Michael Olise’s cross. The former Crystal Palace star got himself on the scoresheet in the 50th minute to make it 3-1, three minutes later Moritz Jenz’s own goal made it 4-1.
Bayern Munich did not stop there as Raphaël Guerreiro 68th made it 5-1 and a minute later Harry Kane scored before Olise grabbed his second for the match for 7-1 and Leon Goretzka wrapped it up in the 88th minute.

Bayern Munich are firmly ontop of the Bundesliga table with 44 points while Wolfsburg sit 14th with just 15points after 16 matches so far this season.
