Nigerian striker Victor Boniface turns 25 today, marking a birthday that comes at a reflective moment in his career as both club and country navigate important phases without him at the centre, Softfootball reports.
Boniface rose to prominence through his physical presence, sharp movement, and eye for goal, earning a move to Bayer Leverkusen where he played a key role in one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. During his time in Germany, the striker recorded over 30 goals across all competitions, contributing significantly to Leverkusen’s domestic success and establishing himself as one of Nigeria’s most promising forwards.

However, the past year has been challenging. Injury setbacks and inconsistent performances meant Boniface was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. As the Super Eagles begin their group-stage campaign today against Tanzania, the striker watches on, determined to work his way back into contention.
Boniface also found himself in the spotlight during the transfer window when a proposed loan move to AC Milan collapsed after a failed medical. Despite the setback, the forward quickly secured a new opportunity, joining Werder Bremen on loan until the end of the season, where he is focused on rebuilding rhythm and confidence.

At club level, Boniface has made over 60 senior appearances across Europe’s top leagues, while at international level he has earned double-digit caps for Nigeria, scoring once for the Super Eagles. While the numbers may not fully reflect his potential, his raw ability and previous performances suggest there is still much more to come.
To celebrate the talisman birthday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria via its official X handle, shared an exclusive photo design of Victor Boniface, wishing him a very happy birthday as he clocks 25. They posted:

As Victor Boniface celebrates his 25th birthday, the year ahead represents a chance for renewal — a period to regain fitness, rediscover his scoring touch, and remind both club and country of the qualities that once made him one of Nigeria’s brightest attacking prospects.
