Latest report from the England camp has revealed that Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins will miss the World Cup qualifiers against Latvia, Softfootball reports.
The forward who got a knock during England’s 3-0 win over Wales in last week’s friendly has failed to recover from it and thereby ruled out of the trip to Riga this evening.

England’s official media confirmed this news in a short statement. It read:
Ollie Watkins has been ruled out of England’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Latvia.
The Aston Villa striker has not recovered from the knock sustained against Wales at Wembley on Thursday evening and has returned to his club.
A squad of 22 will travel to Riga.
Watkins has struggled for form this season both for club and country. He will be disappointed with missing the game against the minnows because it could’ve afforded him the opportunity to regain confidence and his scoring touch.
Aston Villa will however, hope that the injury is not bad and won’t keep him out for too long. Unai Emery will also hope to have Watkins available for their game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
