Ashleigh Plumptre is absolutely delighted to be included in the Super Falcons squad for their upcoming friendly match against France.

The Al Ittihad defender is one of twenty players named in the roster released by interim head coach Justine Madugu recently.

This call up marks a major comeback for the player following a long term injury layoff that unfortunately forced her to miss the Olympic Games in Paris earlier this year.

Softfootball learned that the former Leicester City Ladies star took to social media to celebrate her official invitation to the national team camp.

She wrote that it feels great to make the list for the upcoming international games, adding that it is a good opportunity to fight for the badge once again. The twenty five year old has now made seventeen league appearances for Nigeria since her debut.

The Super Falcons are scheduled to face the French national team at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers this Saturday, where Plumptre hopes to feature prominently and prove her full fitness to the coaching staff. She wants to show she is back to her best form for the team.
