Arsenal are reportedly concerned that Takehiro Tomiyasu could be facing another spell on the sidelines after suffering a possible recurrence of his knee injury.
Softfootball understands that the Japanese defender may be out of action for up to a month, just days after making his first appearance of the season.
Tomiyasu returned from injury with a brief cameo in Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Southampton before the international break. The versatile defender had missed the opening weeks of the campaign after sustaining a knee problem during pre-season.

According to reports from TEAMtalk, Arsenal fear the 25-year-old aggravated the injury during his short appearance against Southampton, raising fresh concerns about his fitness.
The setback would rule Tomiyasu out of Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth and add to Mikel Arteta’s growing injury concerns.
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli both picked up knocks while on international duty, while Kai Havertz and Thomas Partey also withdrew from their national teams due to fitness issues.
Arsenal have already been dealing with defensive problems, with Ben White and Jurrien Timber recently sidelined through injury. Partey was even deployed at right-back against Southampton due to the shortage of options.
Arteta will now be hoping White and Timber recover in time as Arsenal wait for further updates on Tomiyasu’s condition.
