Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed confidence that he will soon receive a call-up to the Super Eagles if he continues his impressive form for Genk.
Softfootball has reported that Arokodare recently showed strong support for the Super Eagles during their Unity Cup semi-final, a gesture that further highlighted his passion for the national team. The striker remains hopeful that his opportunity will come as he continues to work hard and deliver at club level.
Arokodare has been in fine form in the Belgian Jupiler League, scoring six goals in 10 league appearances for Genk. Despite his impressive performances, the 23-year-old was not included in Nigeria’s squad for this month’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Libya.

However, Arokodare insists he is not discouraged by the decision. He believes the players currently in the squad deserve their places and says his focus is to remain patient and keep improving.
We have a huge talent in our attack obviously and the whole squad is full of talent,
he told Tribalfootball.
I haven’t been contacted by the NFF, but with time, if I keep performing right and doing the right things, I think I will get that call soon,
he said.
The Genk forward added that he does not see his omission as a setback, but rather as a sign that his time has not yet come.
Arokodare also described his current campaign as his best season at a higher level, explaining that the Belgian league is more competitive and has helped him grow as a player.
He said life at Genk has been amazing, especially with the team performing well and sitting near the top of the table. According to him, the atmosphere in the squad is positive, and the players are determined to keep winning.
The striker also admitted that after early struggles in Belgium, he now feels more comfortable in the league and better understood by his teammates.
Reflecting on his journey, Arokodare revealed that he started at Box 2 Box in Lagos before moving to Latvia, then Cologne, Valmiera, and finally Genk.
